Program Description
This qualification provides a trade outcome in solid plastering for residential and commercial work. The
qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry,
as well as the specialist field of work, solid plastering. Solid plasterers apply plaster, cement and other mixtures
to walls to create smooth or decorative finishes to interior walls and to render to exterior walls.

VIMT Entry Requirements:
• All students must be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment.
• Students must have completed High School (or equivalent)
• All students must register their USI
• The students must have good computer skills
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
This is a competency-based qualification, assessment will continue throughout the delivery and assessment timetable until the student either achieves competency or a further training need is identified and addressed.
The assessment processes used in this qualification have been specifically designed as a learning and assessment pathway and as such has been structured to ensure learning continues to occur throughout the
delivery and assessment processes.
LANGUAGE LITERACY & NUMERACY (LLN)
Each student is required to fulfill Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) requirements prior to course commencement by undertaking an LLN test. LLN test assists VIMT in identifying any LLN gaps and support the
student during his/her course of study.

Delivery Arrangements
All structured activities are scheduled for 20 hours per week. Participants will complete theoretical training in the VIMT Campus classrooms, Practical training will be conducted in purpose-built workshops.
VIMT will use a range of techniques during face-to-face delivery including trainer presentations and demonstrations, individual tasks, case studies, research, role plays, practical demonstrations, and group work.
